Back in New York
Finally, back in New York, my favorite spot to charge my batteries.
Whats new?
There are a few new high buildings recently completed since last time. Central Park Tower, close to Central Park, and One Vanderbilt with glass-bottom elevators in Midtown being two of the latest ones. and finished last year.
I love locations like Soho, Tribeca, and Greenwich Village on lower Manhatten or Upper East Side between Central Park and East river.
Walking down Madison street and enjoying lunch at Sant Ambreoeus is my kind of treat. The restaurant and others have, due to the special times, built prolonging guest boxes on the streets.
Very nice.
Ralph Lauren has an outdoor cafe outside on Madison street and a coffee truck by Rockefeller center.
This time we went with friends to the new rooftop restaurant NoHu at Envue Hotel in Weehawken, New Jersey, The chef is Swedish Marcus Samuelsson and we had dinner in an Igloo overlooking the New York skyline on the other side.
There's a first time for everything;-) Magic.
Since we went during Thanksgiving week, we had the typical Thanksgiving dinner at the classic Sarabeth's restaurant by Central Park. Turkey and Champagne are a lovely combination. Sarabeth's is also a perfect breakfast restaurant.
We had to go and see the Thanksgiving Parade which is a family tradition since 1924. The city was crowded on this beautiful and sunny day. When in Rome...
We usually go to the cinema when we´re in NY and this was no exception. We saw - House of Gucci, with Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in the leading parts and directed by Ridgley Scott. Based on the true and dramatic story.
Having breakfast at new places is another thing we enjoy and this time we went to Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Nice breakfast and beautiful surroundings.
One thing remains in New York.
The friendly and always helpful attitude. The oil that keeps the special New York machinery on-going. And I will be back.
